The 14th annual Sustainable Arkansas Conference, hosted by the Arkansas chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council, and the Arkansas Green Tie Awards ceremony will be held Wednesday and Thursday at the Clinton Presidential Library and the Cromwell Architects Engineers Mixing Room in Little Rock.
The conference will be held from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday in the Cromwell Architects Engineers Mixing Room. There will also be tours of LEED-certified buildings offered to attendees. LEED is “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.”
Award winners will be honored during the Green Tie Dinner from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The awards will recognize top LEED projects in the state and the people who go above and beyond to make them possible.
The awards ceremony will be held at the Clinton Presidential Library.
Winners include:
- Modus Studio of Fayetteville (Impact Award);
- Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality in Little Rock (Legacy LEED Project);
- Hunt Tower in Rogers (Innovative LEED Project NWA);
- Ben E. Keith C. of North Little Rock (Innovative LEED Project Central AR);
- The Owens’ residence in Little Rock (LEED Residential Project of the Year);
- John Coleman with Entegrity of Fayetteville (J.R. Anderson Volunteer Leadership Award); and
- Arkansas Advanced Energy Association in Little Rock (Organization of the Year)
The Clinton Presidential Library’s upcoming sustainability exhibit will also be featured. The exhibit includes signage describing the sustainable aspects of the building and information about sustainability legislation passed during the Clinton administration. A sustainably built tiny home will be on display, too.
