Historically known as a center for education, Conway continues to grow as a regional hub for employment, shopping, and health care. Often mischaracterized as a “suburb,” the city is home to over 50,000 jobs and sees an influx of 20,000 workers each day. In 2016, companies like Mainstream Technologies and Insight Enterprises announced new locations that will add several hundred jobs to our robust technology sector. Most recently, Acxiom moved its corporate headquarters back to Conway after a nearly two decade absence, bringing the total number of Conway-based associates to over 1,500.
Travelers along Interstate 40 may have noticed major changes around Conway’s Dave Ward Drive exit. The most noticeable is the new Baptist Health Conway medical center which brought over 350 new health care jobs to the community, while across the interstate a major shopping center opened. With over 400,000 SF of retail and restaurant space, Lewis Crossing features a number of new tenants to the market including the long awaited arrival of Sam’s Club.
The Conway Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 125th Anniversary in 2016. To commemorate this milestone, we announced an ambitious plan to develop seven quality of place projects. From a downtown performing arts center to an expanded network of trails, we are committed to making Conway a community that attracts and retains talent for generations to come. We encourage you to learn more at Conway125.com.
