Haag Brown’s Josh Brown Stays Rooted in JonesboroLock Icon

2 min read

If you’re in or around commercial real estate, you’ve probably heard a rumor that Josh Brown, the dynamic broker and developer in Jonesboro, might be leaving northeast Arkansas.

Whispers decided to reach out to the man himself to put the rumor to rest one way or another.

The verdict? Brown, a principal at Haag Brown Commercial, says he’s not leaving.

“There has been recent speculation of whether my family and I are planning to move to northwest Arkansas and how this might affect our development and brokerage company, Haag Brown, which is deeply rooted in Jonesboro,” Brown told Whispers.

“To correct all misconceptions, Jonesboro remains our home base. I have no intention of leaving Jonesboro. However, at this stage of my life and career, mobility offers significant advantages for both my family and Haag Brown. We value the opportunity to travel frequently as a family. We have established second homes in Bentonville, Heber Springs, and soon Norfork, Arkansas. This flexibility allows me to journey with my family while staying closely connected to the markets we serve across Arkansas while maintaining our strong ties to Jonesboro.”

The loss would’ve been felt in Jonesboro as Brown has been seminally involved in much of the city’s growth and development during the last two decades.

While Jonesboro remains home, Brown noted that Haag Brown has always had a substantial presence in northwest Arkansas, completing more than 20 projects in the region with more in the works.

Despite increased activity and investment in northwest and central Arkansas, Brown said the firm’s brokerage pipeline in Jonesboro remains strong, with 2023 marking a record year. Gross brokerage income at Haag Brown was up 12%, and net brokerage income was up 52% in what was a poor year for commercial real estate in most of the U.S., Brown said.

“We are committed to maintaining our position as market leaders in the commercial brokerage sector in Jonesboro while expanding our investments in northwest and central Arkansas,” Brown said.
