Halff Associates Acquires Marlar Engineering of NLR

Engineering/architecture consulting firm Halff Associates Inc. of Richardson, Texas, announced Monday that it has acquired Marlar Engineering Co. Inc. of North Little Rock.

The Halff office in Little Rock and the Marlar office in North Little Rock will maintain their current leadership, staff and locations. They will do business as Halff & Marlar.

“We have been familiar with Marlar Engineering’s work for years,” Halff President Pat Kunz said in a news release. “We share many of the same project and client types, as well as high ethical standards. Together, we will provide stronger leadership, expertise and services. The joining of our two firms is a win for the Arkansas region as the state continues to grow and experience infrastructure expansion and rehabilitation needs.”

Marlar was founded in 1966 by Forrest Marlar Jr. and is led today by his son, Mike Marlar. He said in the release, “By joining Halff, our clients will benefit from having a full range of services and greater insights to bear on their projects. With additional expertise such as floodplain management, traffic engineering, planning and landscape architecture, subsurface utility engineering and much more, we are able to provide more holistic solutions to meet our clients’ goals.”

Halff’s Little Rock office is led by James Arbuckle.
