Karen Harbert to Speak on Energy at Little Rock Luncheon

Karen Harbert, U.S. Chamber Institute for 21st Century Energy president and CEO, is scheduled to speak at a luncheon Tuesday in downtown Little Rock. 

Harbert, a former assistant secretary for policy and international affairs at the U.S. Department of Energy, will speak on “Unleashing the Energy Revolution” at the luncheon sponsored by the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce and Associated Industries of Arkansas.

Harbert heads the institute’s policy development, education and advocacy efforts to frame support for national and international energy action.

At the DOE, Harbert was the primary policy advisor to the DOE secretary and the department on domestic and international energy issues. She also was vice chairman of the International Energy Agency and served as a member of the DOE’s Executive Board.

The luncheon is set for 11:45 a.m. Tuesday at the Heifer International Center at 1 World Ave. in Little Rock.
