Dean Payton and Mike Roberts of Harps Food Stores Inc.
Dean Payton has been named director of the 10Box division of Harps Food Stores Inc. of Springdale, and Mike Roberts has been named director of produce operations.
Payton had been a district manager for Harps for 14 years and was a store manager for eight years before that.
Roberts most recently served as a produce merchandiser and before that as a produce manager.
Robert Garlington has been promoted to senior vice president of operations at George’s Inc. of Springdale.
A 30-year veteran of the food industry, Garlington joined George’s in 2014 as vice president of operations.
He previously oversaw production and processing facilities in Arkansas and Missouri, and his promotion added responsibility for operations in Virginia.
Camilla Shumaker joined the Office of University Relations at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville as director of science and research communications, effective Aug. 1.
A UA graduate with a bachelor’s degree in English and fine arts degree in creative writing, Shumaker was previously director of communication for the College of Engineering.
