Hart Construction of Searcy and the Cone Group, a commercial contractor in Little Rock, have announced a professional alliance that forms Hart Cone.

The deal was effective Monday.

Jimmy Cone, president of the Cone Group, will serve as director of preconstruction services, and Adam Hart, owner of Hart Construction, will serve as president, according to a news release. Each company will continue to exist under the umbrella of Hart Cone.

“Bringing together decades of experience from our team, with the enthusiastic and innovative approach of the Hart Construction team, will provide a unique balance of expertise and energy that will allow us to serve our clients more effectively,” Cone said in a news release. “Being able to lead our team and help our clients meet their construction goals through energetic collaboration with Hart Construction is an opportunity I’m excited about.”

The Cone Group ranks No. 14 on the Arkansas Business list of the state’s largest commercial contractors with 2014 revenue of $31.5 million. Hart Construction was No. 17 on the list of the state’s largest construction companies with 2014 revenue of $27.7 million.

Recent projects from the Cone Group, established in 1956, include the Shackleford Crossing Shopping Center in west Little Rock, the Arkansas Cancer Research Center on the campus of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, and the Hillside Auditorium at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.

Hart Construction was founded in 2003 and has offices in Little Rock, Fayetteville, Searcy and Memphis. Recent projects include the Pleasant Crossings Shoppes in Rogers, Tractor Supply in Blytheville and Siloam Springs Regional Medical Clinic.

“The resume and experience that the Cone Group brings to the table, combined with Hart Construction’s aggressive commitment to establishing new relationship, makes for a strong competitive advantage in the marketplace,” Hart said in the release.
