Hatcher Capital Plans Move to Vacant Building in Downtown LRLock Icon

1 min read

You’ll notice in Real Deals this week that Greg Hatcher, the CEO of The Hatcher Agency of Little Rock, has purchased the nearly 35,000-SF Gay Office Building at 300 S. Broadway St. in the capital city for $1.07 million.

Why? Hatcher tells us he plans to renovate the historic building and put his Hatcher Capital Investments business there.

The project is in the early stages, but architects are already working on plans, he said, with work to start “pretty soon” replacing windows and signage.

Hatcher also bought the smaller adjoining building.

The move is good news for an unsightly block of Broadway. The now-vacant building has had its windows repeatedly smashed.

“I drive by it every day,” said Hatcher, whose insurance agency is headquartered nearby at 310 S. Louisiana St. “Drives me crazy, you know, because I want it to look nice.”

Hatcher guesses the project could be done within a year. He said up to 20 employees could work in the building to start.
