Hawker Beechcraft Names New CEO

Hawker Beechcraft Inc. of Wichita, Kan., said Tuesday that its board of directors has appointed Robert S. "Steve" Miller as CEO.

Bill Boisture, the company’s former CEO, will remain as chairman of Hawker’s operating subsidiary, Hawker Beechcraft Corp.

"Hawker Beechcraft is a great company with iconic brands and dedicated employees. I’m honored to join and to help this company navigate through the challenges of the current general aviation market," Miller said in a news release. "With its inherently strong products, people and history, Hawker Beechcraft will remain an important presence in the aviation industry."

Miller has worked in the automotive, steel and waste management industries. He is currently chairman of the board of AIG and a director of Symantec. He has served on the board of directors of more than a dozen companies, Hawker said.

Hawker Beechcraft Corp. makes business, special mission, light attack and trainer aircraft. Its completions center at Adams Field in Little Rock does finishing work on the company’s lines of private aircraft and employs about 500 people.
