Heartland Pharmacy will open a pharmacy at 2504 Pine St. in Arkadelphia next year, with the staff of the recently shuttered AllCare Pharmacy leading it.
Brian McGalliard and Theresa Thomas will serve as pharmacists. Joining them as technicians are Ginia Yelverton, Rhonda Hall and Stacy Arnold.
This will be Heartland’s 11th location.
“I’m beyond excited for the new opportunity Heartland has created to bring an independent pharmacy back to Arkadelphia and the surrounding areas. Our familiar staff has over 100 years of combined pharmacy experience in Arkadelphia alone,” McGalliard said in a news release. “We’re counting the days to be back working with the patients we’ve known for years and appreciate all their support.”
Heartland can take transfers now from Arkadelphia residents through its Little Rock location and will deliver all medications to Arkadelphia. A secured driver will deliver prescriptions to patients.
This news follows Express Rx of Little Rock announcement that it’s acquired seven AllCare pharmacies in Arkansas. The company didn’t buy the Arkadelphia location.
At least one other AllCare location was purchased by Walgreens, according to a Dec. 1 report in the Baxter Bulletin. AllCare is owned by W.P. Malone Inc., which is led by president and owner Percy Malone, a former Arkansas state senator.
Allcare and Walgreens haven’t released details about a deal, and neither Malone nor Walgreens has responded to calls and emails from Arkansas Business.
