Technology company Logitech International of Fremont, Calif., announced Thursday that it has hired a Conway college’s trustee as president.
Bracken Darrell, a 1985 Hendrix College graduate and a current member of the school’s board of trustees, will become Logitech president April 9.
In the new role, Darrell will assume responsibility for research and development, sales and marketing, manufacturing, supply chain, IT, human resources and legal functions.
Darrell is also slated to succeed Logitech CEO Guerrino De Luca on Jan. 1, 2013.
Darrell, 49, joins Logitech from a position as executive vice president for Whirlpool Corp. of Benton Harbor, Mich., and president of Whirlpool Europe Middle East & Africa. Before joining Whirlpool in 2008, Darrell held positions at Procter & Gamble, General Electric Co., PepsiCo and Arthur Anderson.
Logitech makes and sells hardware and software used in music and video entertainment, gaming, social networking, audio and video communication over the Internet, video security and home-entertainment control.
