Homer’s, the 26-year-old joint that serves up southern home cooking on Roosevelt Road near Clinton National Airport in Little Rock, is opening a second location.
The children of Homer’s founder Homer Connell, Katrina Vaughn and David Connell, run the restaurant these days.
David Connell will be overseeing the new Homer’s West, which is slated to open around June 15 in the former McAlister’s Deli at 9700 N. Rodney Parham Road.
David Connell said the new joint will be about the same size as the existing Homer’s, seating about 130 customers.
Unlike the current Homer’s, which features breakfast and lunch, the new eatery will serve lunch and dinner. Homer’s West will be open 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and will also offer a full bar.
The existing Homer’s saw food sales of $465,172 in 2011.
