Michael Juiliano, aka Hot Dog Mike, has closed his storefront restaurant in the River Market District. His business died as it had lived: on social media. Juiliano made the announcement on the restaurant’s Facebook page and the closure followed a blistering but, in our eyes, fair review on the Arkansas Times food blog Eat Arkansas.

City records show a roller-coaster ride in his taxable receipts, from a high of $8,723 in September 2012 to $2,331 in May 2013, the last month available.

Arkansas Business couldn’t reach him for comment.

Juiliano was highly skilled at forging a brand identity but his execution on the food side of the business faltered.
