This year’s list of the top revenue-producing hotels and restaurants in 2013 didn’t pack many surprises. Two hotels, both in northwest Arkansas, debuted on the list, one hotel got a new identity — the Peabody Little Rock became the Marriott-Little Rock — and one hotel disappeared.
The Chancellor Hotel in Fayetteville opened for business last year, as did the 21c Museum Hotel in Bentonville, and did brisk business, while the Clarion Hotel Medical Center, previously the Hilton Medical Center, in Little Rock succumbed to foreclosure and vanished from the list.
As for restaurants, most of the usual fast-food and fast-casual eateries held on to their places, though Little Rock’s Red Lobster at 8407 W. Markham St. fell to No. 11 in 2013 compared with No. 5 in 2012, perhaps a victim of declining Red Lobster sales experienced throughout the country.
