Hub Expansion is Just the Beginning for DroneUp

There’s more to come on the Walmart/DroneUp front.

As we report in this week’s edition of Arkansas Business, the partnership aims to increase drone delivery hubs to 34 locations in six states: Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Texas, Utah and Virginia. But that’s just the beginning.

DroneUp’s chief strategy officer, Carl Smit, told us the two companies have a “multiyear” commitment and will continue to work together on more hub rollouts, although he would not disclose an exact number.

Meanwhile, DroneUp is already working on its second- and third-generation drones, with the second-generation drones expected to come out around this month and the third-generation models in July 2023.

He said both have significant technological improvements that will increase weather resistance, weight capacity and range within Federal Aviation Administration regulations.
