Huff Named to Ranir Board; United Way Hires Three (NWA Movers & Shakers)

Scott Huff, who retired as executive vice president of the consumables and health and wellness divisions at Wal-Mart Stores Inc. of Bentonville, has been named to the board of directors of Ranir LLC of Grand Rapids, Michigan, a manufacturer of private label consumer oral care products.

Carlos Garbutt, Erin O’Keefe and Jackson Braswell have been hired by the United Way of Northwest Arkansas in Lowell.

  • Garbutt, who formerly worked for the Alzheimer’s Association and Community Connect, was named community impact director.
  • O’Keefe has been hired as a resource development manager after working for the Mercy Hospital Health Foundation in Springfield, Missouri.
  • Braswell was named communications and volunteer center manager. He was formerly assistant director of communications for the Springdale School District.

Kristin Higgins, an associate in the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture’s Public Policy Center, recently received two first-place awards from the National Federation of Press Women for her work on nonpartisan educational materials on every statewide issue on the 2016 general election ballot.
