Hytrol Conveyor Co. Inc. of Jonesboro on Tuesday announced plans to build a 150,000-SF warehouse and distribution center at the Jonesboro E-Commerce Park.
The company will be consolidating three existing warehouses into the new facility, which will provide space for Hytrol’s panel shop and non-manufacturing work, including engineering and administration.
Ramsons Inc. of Jonesboro will build the facility. Work is set to begin in late June with a completion date in spring 2023.
Hytrol is the first company to sign a lease at the 187-acre commercial park, which Haag Brown Commercial Real Estate Development announced in November. The Jonesboro developer paid $1.9 million for the property along Interstate 555.
Executives have described the park as northeast Arkansas’ first “ultramodern logistics, warehousing and digital fulfillment park.” The park will provide up to 3 million SF of total space.
Hytrol is among several companies that Haag Brown worked with in planning the development and zeroing in on a location for it.
“This is the result of two companies who have been dedicated to the support and growth of Northeast Arkansas for many years,” Josh Brown, developer of the project and a principal in Haag Brown, said in a news release. “Hytrol has been a cornerstone of Northeast Arkansas for decades, and we’re excited to invest in the future of Northeast Arkansas with them as a partner to ensure that our area continues to be competitive for the variety of industries that call this area home.”
Hytrol President David Peacock said the project will help support the company’s rapid growth. The company opened a second factory last year in Fort Smith and launched a new product line amid record demand. It also added jobs in Jonesboro, where it already employed more than 1,200 people.
A previous expansion in Jonesboro increased that facility’s size to 660,000 SF in 2016. A 2018 renovation increased Hytrol’s technology center space to 45,000 SF.
