Inuvo Inc. said Thursday that it will move its corporate headquarters from New York to Conway.

The Internet marketing and technology company expects to create 50 “highly skilled jobs” over the next four years.

Inuvo is led by former Axciom Corp. executive Richard Howe. It develops consumer applications to make Internet usage easier and delivers targeted online advertising, according to a news release. The company recently announced preliminary fiscal 2012 revenue of $53.3 million, up 49 percent from 2011.

Inuvo worked with the Arkansas Economic Development Commission in selecting Arkansas to relocate its corporate headquarters. The state will provide grant money to help Inuvo fund the move.

“Inuvo is committed to building a successful and profitable Internet business,” Howe said in a news release. “Through this move, we both improve our operating performance and partner with a state committed to creating opportunities for knowledge-based businesses.”

Inuvo’s headquarters will be located in downtown Conway at 1111 Main Street in the same building as PrivacyStar, the call and text blocking app, another company whose executives have histories at Acxiom.

Gov. Mike Beebe was in Conway to make the announcement. Earlier this week, he announced plans for a $1 billion steel mill in Osceola.

“Conway continues to build an attractive climate of success for knowledge-based industries,” he said. “Between the three universities and numerous existing technology companies, Inuvo’s leaders knew they would find a hard-working, educated workforce ready to fuel the company’s continued growth.”

Conway Mayor Tab Townsell said the city was looking forward to welcoming Inuvo employees from across the country.

“Conway has spent the last decade investing in education, quality of life and infrastructure for the very purpose of attracting talented people like the one’s so critical to Inuvo’s success,” he said.
