Inuvo Inc., an advertising technology and digital publishing company in Conway, has launched SearchLinks, a suite of native ad units for mobile and desktop publishers, according to a company news release.
Native ads are links commonly found on websites or social media apps under banners such as “Promoted” or “From Around the Web.” SearchLinks allows publishers to tap into “the enormous search-based budgets of advertisers, thus providing them with an alternative for monetizing web and app content,” the release stated.
In addition to acting as a database, SearchLinks is a “collection” of Inuvo’s technologies, which includes content analysis and reporting, as well as ad targeting, optimization and delivery. Through this platform, publishers can watch the performance of their SearchLinks ads in real time.
“We have been developing and testing SearchLinks over the last three quarters, having first deployed it on our ALOT websites, then on a select few partners who participated in the beta program,” Jeremy Chrysler, Inuvo’s vice president, said. ALOT.com, which is owned by Inuvo, hosts thousands of articles on health, education, finance, living and travel.
Chrysler said each article was fitted with native ads so the company and its users could see what did and did not meet their expectations, adding that the purpose of the project was to find native ads that would not produce scandalous images or content that would undermine the website’s message or purpose.
“It’s providing a service to the user so they can find their next step,” Chrysler said. “The idea is that it should flow with the page and perform a useful service.”
