J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. of Lowell said Tuesday that former railroad executive Patrick Ottensmeyer has joined its board of directors.
The company said Ottensmeyer’s tenure began Jan. 12, and he is J.B. Hunt’s 10th director. Three directors left the board by not standing for reelection in April at the company’s shareholders meeting; J.B. Hunt added two directors to the board in 2021.
Ottensmeyer served as CEO of Kansas City Southern from 2015 to this past year when KCS merged with Canadian Pacific Railway to form Canadian Pacific Kansas City. Ottensmeyer spent 17 years as an executive with Kansas City Southern.
Ottensmeyer is a member of the United States Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors. He was the U.S. chairman for the chamber’s U.S.-Mexico Economic Council from 2019 to 2023.
