J French Hill: Leadership Classes Have Tradition Of Active Engagement

2 min read

For almost three decades, Leadership Greater Little Rock has graduated the cream of the crop in our city. The alumni of this program have gone on to inspire citizens in our metropolitan area as well as people across the globe.

Each year, around 50 class members are accepted from a pool of applicants to participate in the inspirational, nine-month program. Delta Trust is a proud sponsor and participant in this unique leadership program. We have reaped the benefits of our graduates and their new perspectives that benefit their work on behalf of our clients, their colleagues and their community interests.

Our leadership program is governed by a 19-member board of trustees consisting exclusively of alumni. This dedicated support of the principles and goals of Leadership Greater Little Rock is why our curriculum remains fresh and relevant 28 years after its initial class. I congratulate each of you for your participation in Class XXVIII and I challenge each of you to engage.

In my comments at December’s annual chamber meeting, I stated that I believe that the business community must recognize the critical role that our recreational river, our expanding region and improving race relations — the three “R’s” — play in the health and future of our community. Your city, metro region and state need your active participation in the hundreds of worthwhile projects and organizations thriving in greater Little Rock and determined to make our community safer, better educated and more prosperous.

I have no doubt that you will engage and build on the friendships, networks and ideas that you have generated over the past nine months. All of us on the chamber board of directors extend our congratulations and wish you continued success.
