Jackson Takes Lead on Tech Sciences (Movers & Shakers)

John Jackson has been appointed interim dean of the Arkansas Tech University College of Natural & Health Sciences.

Jackson, on the faculty since 2003, has a Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University of East Lansing and Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy from Mississippi State University of Starkville. He succeeds Jeff Robertson, who is being promoted to associate vice president for academic affairs at ATU.


Matthew Young, assistant professor of electrical engineering at Arkansas Tech University of Russellville, has been recognized as a 2021 Engineering Unleashed fellow, one of 27 people honored for leadership in undergraduate engineering education. A 2009 graduate of ATU, Young earned master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Arkansas.


Elizabeth Small, primary instructor for the real estate program at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Business, has taken on the additional role of director of business networks. She is based at the UA Little Rock Downtown campus.


Jason Smith, vice president of student affairs at Black River Technical College in Pocahontas, recently made a presentation on the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act at the Arkansas Association of Collegiate Registrars & Admissions Officers conference in North Little Rock.
