Jamie Carter’s tenure as administrator of Baptist Health Medical Center-Conway didn’t last long.
After being hired in April to head the hospital, which is still under construction, Carter quit and went to work for LifePoint Health of Brentwood, Tennessee, where he’ll be the chief operating officer of the eastern group of facilities.
Carter’s last day at Baptist will be Sept. 18, and his first day at LifePoint is Sept. 28.
“We hate to lose him,” said Mark Lowman, a Baptist Health spokesman. “He’s done a fantastic job since he’s been here.”
Baptist is in the process of finding Carter’s replacement.
Meanwhile, construction of the 111-bed hospital in Conway proceeds, and it remains on track to open in the spring.
