January State Revenue Comes in Above Forecast

Arkansas finance officials said Thursday that the state’s net revenue in January came in slightly above year-earlier levels and slightly above the forecast.

The Arkansas Department of Finance & Administration said last month’s net revenue totaled $460.9 million, 0.2 percent above the year-earlier period and 0.1 percent above the agency’s forecast.

The state saw growth above forecast in corporate income and sales tax collections, but individual income collections were slightly below forecast.

Gross general revenue in January totaled $552.5 million, which was 4.3 percent higher than last year and 2.8 percent above forecast.

Arkansas’ year-to-date net revenue total $2.8 billion, or 2.9 percent above year-earlier levels.

"After seven months into the fiscal year, net available revenue is above forecast by $42.8 million or 1.6 percent," the DF&A report said.
