J.B. Hunt, Project44 Partner to Enhance Digital Marketplace

1 min read

J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. of Lowell said Tuesday that it will collaborate with logistics software company project44 to integrate the company’s technology into J.B. Hunt’s “J.B. Hunt 360” digital marketplace.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

J.B. Hunt 360 provides businesses and carriers with a marketplace for freight matching, visibility into the supply chain and features that automate daily tasks. J.B. Hunt said project44’s “advanced visibility platform” will provide its customers with “real-time, seamless access to shipment information regardless of carrier, eliminating the need for multiple carrier data integrations.”

“The challenges our customers are facing today require greater visibility into their transportation network,” Shelley Simpson, J.B. Hunt’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer, said in a news release. “By integrating project44 technology within J.B. Hunt 360, customers can view and manage multi-carrier freight from a single platform, helping them streamline operations and meet their supply chain goals.”

J.B. Hunt said the partnership is important as it aims to expand J.B. Hunt 360’s capabilities and services.

In August, the company launched a rewards program for third-party carriers and their drivers designed to help carriers save money and spend more time driving. In 2017, it announced a five-year, $500 million investment in “disruptive technology” and enhanced operating systems and infrastructure.
