J.D. Lowery of Maumelle has been named manager of community and economic development for the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas. Lowery previously served as director of the Arkansas Energy Office.
“J.D. has a wealth of knowledge and experience involving energy industry issues, including the many opportunities and innovations that are evolving and on the immediate horizon,” said Kirkley Thomas, vice president of governmental affairs for the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas. “He also understands the community and economic development environment in the state and will work with cooperative members, business leaders and government officials to find solutions to make the quality of life in Arkansas even better.”
Lowery has a master’s degree in public service from the Clinton School of Public Service at the University of Arkansas and a bachelor’s in journalism from the UA. He is a LEED-accredited professional in building design and construction and is certified in global reporting and initiative sustainability reporting. Lowery also is a member of the Clinton School of Public Service alumni board of directors.
