Jeffrey “Jeff” Nielsen has been named president and CEO of the Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce. “Jeff’s extensive experience in executive leadership roles, and his dedication to community involvement, uniquely position him to drive our mission of progress and development forward,” Jason Patience, board chair of the Harrison Regional Chamber, said in a statement.
The chamber noted that Nielsen, a native of Houston, is familiar with Boone County through his wife, Lisa Woodworth Nielsen, a native of Boone County and a 1985 graduate of Harrison High School. Since April, Nielsen has been working as assistant to the judge-special projects for Boone County Judge Robert Hathaway. Nielsen has spent much of his career in local government and the construction industry. He previously served as the chief of staff for two Houston City Council members. Then, from 2002 until 2021, he was the executive vice president of the Houston Contractors Association. From 2021 through April 2024, Nielsen was president of the Associated Builders & Contractors of Greater Houston.
Nielsen received his Bachelor of Science in political science from the University of Houston.
