Jerome Strickland ( The Contingent)

Jerome Strickland has been named executive director in Arkansas at The Contingent of Portland, Oregon. Strickland will lead the newly created Arkansas branch of the nonprofit. His initial focus will be helping launch the Every Child Arkansas initiative, which will support children, families and organizations in the state’s foster care system. Strickland has 18 years of experience.

Whitney Vandiver Couch ( Home for Healing)

Whitney Vandiver Couch has been hired as the development director at Home for Healing of Little Rock. Couch has previously worked for the Arkansas Foodbank and Our House of Little Rock. In her new role with the nonprofit, Couch will raise funds to further Home for Healing’s mission.


Ian Shuttleworth has joined the Alzheimer’s Association Arkansas Chapter as walk manager. Shuttleworth will work on organizing both the Little Rock and South Arkansas Walk to End Alzheimer’s events. Shuttleworth previously worked for Camp Aldersgate of Little Rock for six years.

Rangaswamy Govindarajan ( UAMS)

Dr. Rangaswamy Govindarajan, a hematologist and oncologist at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, has been appointed chief of the Division of Hematology & Oncology at the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute. The division is part of the Department of Internal Medicine in the College of Medicine and includes Arkansas’ only stem cell, bone marrow transplant and cellular therapy programs. Govindarajan will lead the team of physicians treating patients with hematological disorders and will also help the faculty develop clinical trials and translational research.

Monty Harrington ( SAU)

Monty Harrington has been appointed to the board of trustees of Southern Arkansas University of Magnolia for his second term. Harrington was appointed by Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and his term will expire in 2028.

Chuck Kirkindall ( Black River Technical College)

Chuck Kirkindall has been hired as an administrative specialist for student affairs at Black River Technical College in Pocahontas. Kirkindall is currently working toward his education degree from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.


The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has announced three new members of the UA Little Rock Foundation Fund Board: John Dominick, director and senior treasury officer at Bank of America; Chrissy Jennings, a member of the board of the Little Rock Diamond Foundation; and Tonya Middleton, a senior manager at Entergy Services. Each will serve three-year terms on the board.


Lindsey Mitcham Lorence, an assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas, has been named a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Lorence has practiced in Little Rock for 26 years and was invited into the college for her ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality.
