Jess Ardrey has been named editor of Little Rock Soirée, the monthly magazine of philanthropy, society and culture published by Arkansas Business Publishing Group, which also publishes Arkansas Business.
Ardrey succeeds Nicola Kavanagh, who has returned to her native England but will continue to contribute to Soirée as needed.
“Jess has played an integral role in the launch, continued execution and growth of the Little Rock Soirée Today e-newsletter,” Publisher Mandy Richardson said. “She has also been a strong contributor to the print magazine through her years at ABPG. We are thrilled to see Jess take the editorial reins of Soirée, starting with the upcoming October issue.”
Ardrey joined ABPG in 2014 as a writer for the company’s various publications. For the past two years, Jess has served as the online editor for Little Rock Soirée and as the editor of FIT Arkansas magazine. She previously edited publications for Harding University at Searcy, where she graduated with a degree in print journalism in 2011.
Jo Longley has joined The Design Group of Little Rock as an account executive in the account services department, and Syd Hayman has been hired as a public relations account executive.
Longley, from Las Vegas, studied creative writing at the University of Nevada and at Kingston University London.
Hayman, an Arkansas native who earned a degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism, has experience as a writer and copy editor for various Arkansas Democrat-Gazette publications.
Mark Camp of Little Rock is the new director of the Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission, a division of the Arkansas Department of Parks & Tourism.
He succeeds Robert Phelps, who retired July 1 after nearly 20 years in the position.
