Jill Simons to Lead Retention Effort at Arkansas State (Movers & Shakers)

Jill Simons has been named associate vice chancellor for retention and completion at Arkansas State University at Jonesboro, where she was previously assistant vice chancellor for undergraduate studies in the university’s Division of Academic Affairs.

She will chair the new Chancellor’s Commission on Completion, a campuswide initiative to increase the overall retention of students and raise the graduation rate.

Joel Anderson, who retired as chancellor of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in June 2016, has returned to the campus to work part time as scholar in residence at the Anderson Institute on Race & Ethnicity, which he created in 2011.
