Little Rock restaurateur Jim Keet provided Whispers with an update on his Cypress Social project, the restaurant and bar that will occupy the former Cock of the Walk restaurant at 7103 Cock of the Walk Drive off Maumelle Boulevard in North Little Rock.

The coronavirus pandemic pushed back the opening of Cypress Social from April 14 to the week of July 21, said Keet, one of the names behind Petit & Keet Bar & Grill in Little Rock.

Keet’s family restaurant business — which includes sons Tommy and Jake — has had a few more than the usual challenges facing restaurants in the coronavirus era. The Keets have been involved in a total of three restaurant openings during the pandemic. In addition to Cypress Social, they opened a new Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe at 15000 Cantrell Road and a Waldo’s Chicken & Beer in Tulsa with partner Mike Pierce Jr.

“As you can imagine this has been a very challenging time for management and staff alike,” Keet said.
