Jones Film Makes Main Street Move, Becomes M-3 Productions

2 min read

Downtown Little Rock’s Main Street makeover continued this week with the move of Jones Film Video to its new headquarters at Third and Main.

The company also changed its name to M-3 Productions.

The move from the original Jones location at Sixth and Chester was official Tuesday. The company said the new name reflects the firm’s new location at 300 Main. The new building houses a 2,000-SF sound stage that includes a 61-foot cyclorama wall with green screen and multiple background options and a 14-foot lighting grid.

In addition to the move and rebranding, M-3 announced that it is expanding its services to include audio production.

“There are a number of clients and businesses that have a regular and recurring need for audio production,” said Debbie Grace, M-3’s vice president and managing director. “We can script, edit and produce audio on a quick-turn, yet high-quality basis.”

Grace said demand for video production is growing, particularly among online formats such as video blogs, webisodes and corporate training videos.

“Whereas video was once out of reach financially for a lot of people and companies, technology has made it affordable and a medium of choice for more and more clients,” she said. “Video is how organizations are telling their stories through conventional media and increasingly on digital platforms.”

M-3 was founded in 1981 in Little Rock as Jones Film & Video by Gary Jones, who launched Jones Productions in 1968. In 2006, Jones Film & Video was purchased by Little Rock ad firm CJRW, which recently opened across the street from the new M-3 location on Main.

Last month, CJRW named firm president Darin Gray its chairman and CEO.

The opening of CJRW and M-3 in the 300 block of Main represents a milestone in the development of downtown Little Rock’s “Creative Corridor.” One commerical real estate firm estimates that about $100 million in new development is underway on Main Street.
