Jonesboro Hires Craig Rickert As First A&P Director

1 min read

The Jonesboro Advertising & Promotion Commission announced it has hired Craig Rickert as its first executive director, effective Dec. 1.

Rickert previously served six years as director of communications for Jonesboro Unlimited. He also was an anchor for Jonesboro ABC affiliate KAIT-TV, Channel 8, for 15 years.

“We are excited to bring Craig on board to lead the organization and spread the story of all the great events happening in our city,” Jerry Morgan, Jonesboro A&P Commission chairman, said in a statement. “His knowledge and passion for Jonesboro is unmatched.”

Rickert played a leading role in a recent rebranding campaign for Jonesboro. He also brought together the city, the Downtown Jonesboro Alliance, the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the A&P Commission to unify under one logo.

“It was one of the most satisfying accomplishments of my working career,” Rickert said in a statement. “It showed me and many others how easy it can be to work together when we realize we all have a common goal.”

Jonesboro’s A&P Commission is funded by hotel and restaurant tax revenues that are reinvested in the community. The city will host the 50th anniversary of the Arkansas Governor’s Conference on Tourism, scheduled for February.
