Jonesboro’s Kevin Miller Recognized by State Fire Chiefs Association (Movers & Shakers)

Fire Chief Kevin Miller of Jonesboro has received the E.W. Sewell Fire Chief of the Year Award from the Arkansas Fire Chiefs Association.

Miller has been Jonesboro’s fire chief for eight years and a firefighter for more than 30 years.

Betty Anderson has been named chief of staff for the Arkansas Department of Commerce in Little Rock. Anderson is one of many new officials appointed to the executive team of the secretary of commerce.

The five other appointments are Steven Porch as chief legal counsel, Alisha Curtis as chief communication and legislative director, Courtney Traylor as chief financial officer, Nathan Smith as director of research and Melissa Adams as executive assistant to the secretary of commerce.

Karen Scott was recently hired as chief financial officer for Benton Utilities. Scott most recently served as finance director for the city of North Little Rock, where she worked for six years.
