Judgment of $254K Made Against Former Insurance Agent Josh CasadaLock Icon

1 min read

Remember the case of the former Pine Bluff insurance agent who is facing felony counts of theft, forgery and insurance fraud?

Well, Josh Eric Casada and his Casada Insurance Group Inc. now have a $254,480 judgment against them.

Back in May, Pulaski County Circuit Judge Chris Piazza awarded a default judgment against Casada and his firm in a case filed by their former client, Imperial Premium Finance Corp. of Kansas City, Missouri, which does business as IPFS Corp. IPFS was suing for fraud, breach of contract, conversion and breach of fiduciary duty.

Casada’s attempt to represent himself and his firm in the lawsuit backfired. Piazza awarded IPFS a victory without the company having to go to trial.

Then on July 10, Piazza awarded IPFS $204,480 for the missing money plus another $50,000 in damages as a way to punish Casada and his firm.

Casada is facing felony charges in Jefferson and Pulaski County circuit courts. He has not entered a plea in the cases.
