Former Museum of Discovery CEO Kelley Bass has joined The Hatcher Agency, the Little Rock insurance company led by founder and CEO Greg Hatcher.
Bass left the nonprofit museum in downtown Little Rock in October after 12 years as its leader.
His new role with The Hatcher Agency will be “multi-faceted,” the company said in a news release. Hatcher said he’s confident that Bass’ personal and professional network will help Bass contribute to the agency’s success in a variety of ways.
“I have a history of hiring people who have track records of success in their careers and become available for whatever reason,” Hatcher said in a statement. “I knew about Kelley Bass’ long work history and was impressed with what he was able to accomplish at the Museum of Discovery. So, after he left the museum, I offered him the chance to join our agency.”
Prior to his time with the museum, Bass spent four years as assistant dean for external affairs at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s College of Engineering and Information Technology. Before then, he spent nine years as senior vice president of communications at Acxiom. That followed an 18-year career in journalism as an award-winning columnist, editor and reporter at newspapers including the Arkansas Gazette and Arkansas Times.
“I am excited, flattered, and honored that Greg has asked me to join his team and look forward to doing all I can to deliver outstanding results for a legend in the Arkansas business world and all the great people who work with him,” Bass said.
