Kelly Sublett Signs On with Vowell

Kelly Sublett, the former Log Cabin Democrat publisher who lost her post when the Conway paper and several sister publications were sold two weeks ago, quickly took a new post as COO of Vowell Inc., the Little Rock publisher of AY Magazine, Arkansas Money & Politics and specialty publications.

Sublett was running the Log Cabin, the Van Buren County Democrat and the Heber Springs Sun-Times until they were sold by GateHouse Media Inc. to Paxton Media Group of Paducah, Kentucky, along with the Newport Independent.

“I am excited for Kelly to join our team,” AY and AMP Publisher Heather Baker said in a statement. “Kelly brings a lot to the table, from her background in newsrooms to marketing and sales experience … As we continue to grow our company, it’s imperative to add experience and excellence.”
