The Inn at the Mill in Johnson (Washington County) is getting a big new neighbor, the news operations of KFSM and KXNW, known as 5News.
Napa Construction LLC is building a 23,000-SF facility for the Tribune Broadcasting-owned TV stations on four acres just off Interstate 49 north of the Mill, according to Van Comer, the 5News president and general manager. The design is by BiLD Architects of Fayetteville.
“The dynamic growth of the region and our business has made this move possible,” said Comer, who noted plans for an open office atmosphere and studio space. KFSM will keep its Fort Smith operations in its current building, but is planning to move to a newer Fort Smith site eventually.
