Kinetic Expands Black Business Support Fund

1 min read

Kinetic by Windstream, a business unit of Windstream Holdings Inc. of Little Rock, announced another expansion of Black Business Support Fund.

The fund, which aims to grow and increase the stability of Black-owned businesses, will now accept applications for grants from eligible businesses across its entire 18-state service area.

Each grant recipient gets $2,500 in cash and a year of free internet for their small business. The selected businesses will also get a free consultation from Kinetic Business on processes and products that could improve efficiencies and make their business more profitable.

“When we started the fund, the pandemic was having a disproportionate effect on Black-owned businesses across the country, so the grants were just keeping the doors open for our neighbors’ businesses,” Lorenzo Clark, vice president of digital sales for Kinetic, said in a news release. “Now that things have stabilized a bit, these grants are helping businesses that often don’t have good access to capital to grow.”

Since the fund’s launch in late 2020, businesses selected for the grants have received a grand total of $300,000 in cash awards.
