Kubota Calls: John Scott Set to Exit Springdale’s United Bank

1 min read

Change is on the way for the banking hierarchy at United Bank in Springdale.

Though it’s not an imminent move, we’re told that President and CEO John Scott will be leaving the institution. Scott joined UB as president in January 2008 and was promoted to CEO about six months later.

We understand that Scott tendered his resignation late last week, but he’s expected to stay with the bank until the fall. A search for his replacement is already under way.

Scott’s future involves tractors – specifically, Kubota tractors. He and two other investors recently purchased four Kubota dealerships in Springdale, Berryville, Harrison and Grove, Okla. Terms of the deal weren’t available.

At one time, under previous owners Gene and Donna Baker, those four stores combined made up the largest Kubota dealership group in the country. The Bakers acquired the Springdale faction, Springdale Tractor, in 1972, and brought the Kubota line in the following year as one of the first dealers in the nation.

David Slone, owner of Superior Auto Group in Springdale, and Travis Woods, a top executive at SAG, are the other investors with Scott.
