Maybe you’ve heard an events center is going up near the North Little Rock-Sherwood border?
Site work for The Venue at Oakdale is in motion at 901 Kellogg Acres Road in North Little Rock across from the intersection with Oakdale Road.
Construction of buildings has yet to start, co-owner Shantell Kelly told Whispers last week.
“We’ll have two buildings: one that’s 4,000 SF, the other one is 10,000 SF, so we can range from 50 people to 600 people,” she said. “We’re still in a few planning stages.”
The venue is envisioned as a space to host indoor and outdoor weddings, wedding receptions, corporate events and meetings, fundraisers, banquets, bridal and baby showers, holiday parties and more.
It is set to open in May, just in time for the wedding season. That opening, of course, depends on any adverse weather delaying construction, Kelly said.
The developers are Brad Medlock, Richard and Rachel Adams and Bryan and Sonja Glaze. Through Medlock Adams & Glaze LLC, they bought the 8.2-acre location for $550,000 from Medlock Management Co. LLC, led by Brad Medlock.
