Lawsuit Alleges Dirty Work by Cleaning Service

The fight for a cleaning contract can be fierce.

Last month, Razorclean Maids Inc. of North Little Rock was awarded a $380,000 one-year contract from the Arkansas State Highway & Transportation Department. The contract includes the option to extend it to five years.

The janitorial contract had been held by O.J.’s Service Two Inc. of North Little Rock. And apparently it wasn’t happy about losing the work, according to Razorclean’s lawsuit filed in Pulaski County Circuit Court.

Since February, O.J.’s and its president, Charles Hinson, allegedly have “engaged in a campaign of threats and intimidation to the customers and references” of Razorclean, the lawsuit said.

“All we’re trying to do is make sure there’s a level playing field for all contracts in Arkansas,” said Razorclean’s attorney, Tre’ Kitchens of Little Rock. “And then if you intentionally try to mess contracts up for somebody else, there are consequences for that.”

Razorclean wants a restraining order against O.J.’s and Hinson to stop allegedly harassing Razorclean’s customers. It is also suing O.J.’s and Hinson for interfering with the contract. Razorclean, which is owned by the former Arkansas Razorback and NFL running back Madre Hill, is seeking an unspecified amount of damages.

Hinson couldn’t be reached for comment Thursday afternoon.
