License Revoked for Greenwood Title Insurance Agent

About a month ago, we told you about a Greenwood title insurance agent and her agency that had their insurance licenses suspended for allegedly using another agent’s name and license number without permission.

The Arkansas Insurance Department now has yanked the license of Teresa J. Wright, who owns The Title Agency Inc., and that of her agency.

After we ran the item, Wright told us there had been a misunderstanding, and she hoped to set the record straight at an AID hearing on May 2.

“It’s a false claim,” Wright said last month about the allegations. “I haven’t been presented with anything that supports what the complaint is.”

But she was a no-show at the hearing. The AID said it proved its cases and then pulled Wright’s license and her agency’s credentials.

Insurance Commissioner Jay Bradford said in the order that he won’t even consider reinstating the licenses until three years have passed. We didn’t hear back from Wright this time.
