Liquor Store Rivals Ready for Randolph County Retail LicensesLock Icon

1 min read

Competition is fierce for three retail liquor licenses to be awarded in Randolph County on Tuesday.

As of Wednesday, at least 21 people had applied with the state’s Alcoholic Beverage Control division for a package store permit.

It’s been at least 70 years since the county had a liquor store. But voters approved the sale of alcoholic beverages in the county in November.

Applicants range from Hubert C. Steimel Jr. and his Bootleggers of Randolph County to Ron C. Mangold and his Pokey Package Place to Emily F. Pratt and her less fancifully named Randolph County Liquor.
