Little Rock Catholic High School Announces New Administrative Leadership (Movers & Shakers)

Little Rock Catholic High School for Boys has announced its new administrative leadership, effective July 1. Steve Aday has been promoted to assistant principal, serving as dean over the students. He has been on faculty since 2006. Former Assistant Principal Matt Dempsey has been promoted to principal, replacing Steve Straessle, who was appointed head of school. Straessle served as principal for 18 years.


Chris Boothman (ASU)

Chris Boothman has been announced as interim vice chancellor for Enrollment Management & Global Outreach at Arkansas State University of Jonesboro. Boothman is the vice chancellor of EMGO’s Global Campus unit.


Chris Blair (Northwest Medical Center-Bentonville)

Chris Blair has been appointed chief executive officer of Northwest Medical Center-Bentonville. He was named interim CEO of the center in early 2023. Before joining the center, Blair was director of business development at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center of Grapevine, Texas.


Dr. Mark Pippenger (Baptist Health)

Dr. Mark Pippenger has joined Baptist Health Memory Clinic-North Little Rock, where he will specialize in behavioral neurology. He has almost 30 years of medical experience and is an adjunct professor of neurology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences of Little Rock.


Dr. Bassam “Sammy” Shukrallah (Baptist Health)

Dr. Bassam “Sammy” Shukrallah has been hired at Baptist Health Cardiothoracic Surgery Clinic of Little Rock. Shukrallah held various medical and academic positions before accepting his position at Baptist Health. He will specialize in thoracic surgery and transplants.


Monique Spillman (UAMS)

Dr. Monique Spillman has been hired as chief of the Division of Gynecological Oncology with the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute at UAMS of Little Rock. Before joining UAMS, Spillman practiced gynecological oncology at Texas Oncology PA of Dallas. Spillman also serves as a professor and co-director of cancer services in the UAMS College of Medicine Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology.


Dawn Turner (Baptist Health Foundation)

Dawn Turner has joined Baptist Health Foundation of Fort Smith as the development and special event officer for western Arkansas. This new role has Turner coordinating and implementing the foundation fundraising efforts in the River Valley. She was previously the membership engagement administrator at the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce.
