Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders has picked Little Rock pastor Iverson Jackson to lead the state Fair Housing Commission, the agency that works with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to enforce fair housing rules and regulations.
Jackson is the senior pastor of Zoe Bible Church. He received his bachelor’s in business administration in 1985 from Southern Arkansas University, and his master’s in public administration from Webster University.
He served 25 years in the U.S. Army Reserves and retired as a lieutenant colonel in 2008.
Jackson currently serves as the chairman of the African American Coalition of Arkansas of the Republican Party of Arkansas, and is a member of the Southern Arkansas University Foundation board.
In a statement, Sanders said that Iverson “shares my compassionate vision to empower Arkansans with greater opportunity and prosperity.”
“I am confident that he will work with Inspector General Allison Bragg to promote fair housing access for all Arkansans,” she said.
