Tamika Edwards and Keith Harvey
Tamika Edwards and Keith Harvey were sworn in Wednesday as new members of the Little Rock Port Authority Board. They were appointed by Mayor Frank Scott Jr.
The board also voted in new leadership, including its new chair, Joe Bailey. The other new officers are Vice Chair Bobby Brown and Treasurer Clay McGeorge.
The two new board members are attorneys.
Edwards works for Central Arkansas Water, as special advisor to the CEO on diversity, equity, inclusion and engagement. Her career in public service began at the Arkansas Department of Economic Development. Edwards earned her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, master’s degree in professional and technical writing from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and her J.D. from Bowen Law School.
Harvey is deputy general counsel for Uniti Group Inc. of Little Rock, where he focuses on the acquisition and operation of telecommunications infrastructure. He is the founder and chairman of the Friends and Alumni of McClellan Foundation. Harvey earned his undergraduate degree in political science and philosophy from Emory University and his J.D. from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
Bailey, who has been on the board since 2012, is a senior project manager with Entergy Arkansas Inc.’s Teamwork Arkansas. Before that, he spent 10 years with the AEDC, serving as director of business development for the last five years. In August 2011, Bailey was named Economic Developer of the Year by the Arkansas Economic Developers Association. He is also an officer of that organization’s board.
“Joe Bailey will make an excellent chair of the Little Rock Port Authority Board of Directors,” Bryan Day, executive director of the Little Rock Port Authority, said in a news release. “We are honored to welcome Tamika Edwards and Keith Harvey to our board. As experienced attorneys in various fields, they will bring insightful perspectives. We thank our outgoing Chair Greg Joslin and board member Ray Dillon for their dedication to our community and the Port.”
Brown is president and CEO of Interstate SignWays. He was appointed to the board in 2016.
McGeorge is the president of Jeffrey Sand Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pine Bluff Sand & Gravel. He joined the board in 2018.
