Technology

Brian Berry, vice provost of research and dean of the graduate school at University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and Eric Peterson, interim president of BioVentures at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences of Little Rock, have been appointed to the board of the Little Rock Technology Park. 

Banking & Finance

Jamie Moore (First Community Bank)

Jamie Moore has been promoted to assistant vice president, dealer direct lender at First Community Bank of Batesville.

Engineering

Daniel Allen has been hired as a customer service manager at Allen Engineering Corp. of Paragould.

Matt Crafton (Crafton Tull)

Matt Crafton, president and CEO of Crafton Tull of Rogers, has been named a fellow of the American Council of Engineering Cos. of Washington, D.C. 

Retail

Carson Cook has been hired as an outside sales representative at Antique Brick & Block of Little Rock, and Jeff Chastain has been hired as marketing and communications director. In addition, Chris Pelton has been hired as an architectural sales representative at the northwest Arkansas office of Antique Brick & Block.

Utilities

Conway Corp. employees Mark Ferguson, Chad Hogan and Lee Tedford have been named Blue Ribbon Workforce Heroes by the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce.

Keith Turner (Conway Corp.)

Keith Turner, a senior lake operator, has transferred to the role of Brewer Lake operator at the Brewer Lake property of Conway Corp. Turner replaces Bruce Bradford, who retired earlier this year.

Jay Wallace has been promoted to senior manager of the southwest region distribution operations at Entergy Arkansas of Little Rock. Wallace has been with the company for two decades and was previously the line superintendent in the Hot Springs network.

In addition, Kemuel Akis has been promoted to senior manager of the southeast region distribution operations at Entergy Arkansas. Akis has been with the company for 24 years and was previously the capital project construction manager at Entergy Arkansas.

Education

Kay Walter (UAM)

Kay Walter, the editor of The English Pub, received the 2024 NCTE Affiliate Newsletter of Excellence Award from the National Council of Teachers of English of Champaign, Illinois. Walter is professor of English at the School of Arts & Humanities at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.

Rebecca Passmore (UA Little Rock)

Rebecca Passmore has been hired as an assistant professor of cybersecurity at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Passmore has taught as a part-time instructor at the university since 2020.

Health Care

Angie Longing (CHI St. Vincent)

Angie Longing has been appointed president of CHI St. Vincent Morrilton. Longing will continue to serve as chief nurse executive for the CHI St. Vincent Arkansas market in her new position.

Jun Sung (UAMS)

Dr. Jun Song, a fellowship-trained urogynecologist and reconstructive pelvic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of female pelvic floor disorders, has been hired at the Department of Urology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

Dr. Cody Rogers has been hired to the hospitalist team at Conway Regional Medical Center.

John Bedsworth (ARORA)

John Bedsworth has been hired as a manager of family services coordinators at the Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency of Little Rock.

Story Phillips (Hurst Law Group)

Story Phillips has been hired as an associate at Hurst Law Group of Hot Springs. 

Nonprofits

Lisa Lake of AT&T has been appointed to the state board of Junior Achievement of Arkansas in Little Rock. Other new appointees are Keith McGee of the Watson Chapel School District, Alex Ray of Viridis Initiative, B.K. Simmons of Simmons & Co. and Cleve Wortham of Equity Bank.

In addition, Katelyn LaBudde of Bank OZK and Barbara Riggin of First Horizon Bank have been appointed to the central Arkansas board of Junior Achievement of Arkansas.

Appointed to the northwest Arkansas board of Junior Achievement were AnneDella Hines of ProsperMed LLC, Alejandro Saenger of Walmart, Hannah Standifer of Upskill NWA, Joseph Tharp of Regions Bank, Henry J. Wildenborg of EY and Marie Huthwaite.

Wendy Ward (Winthrop Rockefeller Institute)

Wendy Ward, associate provost for faculty at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, has accepted a three-year appointment to the board of directors of the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute of Morrilton.
