Jeff Nielsen has been named president and CEO of the Harrison Regional Chamber.
Nielsen moved to Harrison from Houston, Texas, in April to working as a special projects assistant to Boone County Judge Robert Hathaway. Nielsen’s wife, Lisa Woodworth, is a native of Boone County.
Nielsen has spent much of his career in local government and the construction industry. He first served as the chief of staff for two different Houston City Council members. Then, from 2002 until 2021, he served as the executive vice president for the Houston Contractors Association. He has also been the president of the Houston chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors.
In his new role, Nielsen will lead the chamber in its economic development mission through leadership, education and investor relations, the chamber said in a news release. He follows Wilson Marseilles, who left the chamber as president and CEO in August. Mike Nabors held the role on a interim basis.
“Jeff’s extensive experience in executive leadership roles, and his dedication to community involvement, uniquely position him to drive our mission of progress and development forward,” Jason Patience, chair of the chamber board, said in a statement. “His vision and commitment to fostering economic growth and collaboration will be invaluable as we navigate the opportunities and challenges ahead.”
Nielsen is a 1990 graduate of the University of Houston,
“My goal as President is to partner with area leaders to grow the regional economy through the promotion of Harrison as a great place to live, work and raise a family, while maintaining the small town values and natural beauty that makes this part of the Ozarks so great,” he said.
