Talk about beating the rush.
Alan Crancer of Waymack & Crew, the Little Rock video production company, got his COVID-19 vaccination back in October — though he wasn’t certain about it at the time.
“I only learned recently that I got the vaccine rather than the placebo,” Crancer told Whispers last week, recalling how he volunteered last year for a late-stage study of the Moderna vaccine at Baptist Health Center for Clinical Research in Little Rock.
“There was a 50-50 chance of getting either, so I’m pretty happy about it.”
Crancer, who is Waymack’s director of regional new business development, was one of more than 400 participants in the study, which was part of the Arkansas COVID Vaccine Initiative. The Baptist site was one of 90 institutions around the country conducting the study.
Crancer said that as talk turns to vaccination efforts being ramped up all over, he’s a conversation piece.
“I tell people I got mine back in October,” Crancer said. “Then I tell them the story.”
